FarangBuddy

A stay tracker for Thailand. Enter when you arrived, when you left, when you did a border run, and when you extended. The app shows you the dates you need to watch.

Opens in a browser. Its records sit in the browser on your device.

What it keeps track of

You enter what happened. The app works out the dates from that.

Your admitted-until date

The date from your passport stamp, not a guess. If you are not sure which date to use, the app shows you how to read the stamp.

Entries, exits and border runs

A border run out and back on the same day is one entry. An extension done inside Thailand is also one entry.

90-day reporting and TM30

Both dates appear on the status page with everything else, so you do not forget them.

More than one person

A partner, a parent, or a whole household. Each person has their own list and their own dates.

Currency

A currency converter, for when a form asks for an amount in baht and your bank uses another currency.

Your data, exportable

Your records stay in the browser on your device. The app can give them back to you as a file.

Put it on your home screen

It is a web app. There is no app store and nothing to update. Once it is on your home screen it opens like any other app.

QR code that opens FarangBuddy

Scan this with your phone camera. Then, in the browser that opens:

  1. iPhone: Share, then Add to Home Screen.
  2. Android: the three-dot menu, then Install app or Add to Home screen.
  3. Desktop: the install icon in the address bar.

Or open farangbuddy.netlify.app directly.

It is a reminder, not proof

The app calculates dates from what you type in. If the app and your passport stamp disagree, the stamp is correct. The same goes for the officer in front of you. Use the app to see a date coming. Use us to deal with it.
