# Chiang Mai Visa Desk

## What it does

- **Work permits** — the Non-B visa, the work permit, the tax ID and the social
  security registration prepared as one file. New permits, renewals, a change of
  employer, and the filings that run through the year.
- **Setting up a Thai company** — registration, the shareholder and director
  paperwork, the tax ID and VAT registration, the corporate bank account, and the
  work permit the company then issues. Quoted as one file with the stages written
  out before the client starts.
- **Retirement** — Non-O and Non-OA, the annual extension of stay, the bank
  letters and account paperwork the office asks for, insurance documents, and the
  90-day reports that follow.
- **Border runs** — door pickup in Chiang Mai, paperwork prepared in advance,
  staff at both counters, return the same trip. Private or shared van.
- **Extensions** — forms, photos, copies and signatures checked, then filed at
  Chiang Mai Immigration with the client or on their behalf.
- **90-day reporting** — date tracked, report prepared and lodged, receipt and
  next due date returned.
- **TM30 / address notification** — filed on a move and on return from travel.
- **Re-entry permits** — single or multiple, at the immigration office or the
  airport desk.
- **Documents** — bank letters, lease copies, translation, certification,
  embassy paperwork.

## Who it serves

DTV holders, retirees, and people on marriage, education, business and TR
visas who live in or around Chiang Mai and need to leave and re-enter
periodically. Also employers and their staff, and foreigners starting a company
in Thailand who need the registration, the tax ID and the work permit handled
together. Couples, housemates and coworking floors can book as one group.

## What it does not do

It does not publish immigration rules. Requirements change; the current
requirement for a given visa type and travel date is checked per job and
reflected in the quote. Nothing on this site should be read as a statement of
Thai immigration law.

## The other direction — US visas for Thai nationals

The desk also prepares US visa applications for Thai passport holders: visit,
study and exchange, work, family, immigrate and invest, and cases where an
earlier application was refused. Thirty-one categories are listed at

The division of labour is fixed: the desk assembles the file, writes the
business plan, the source-of-funds narrative and the job-creation and economic
analysis, and prepares the applicant for the interview. Legal advice and the
filings themselves go through a US immigration attorney. The desk works
alongside one and is not one.

Two tags appear on that page and they are the desk's own view rather than any
ruling: "Most asked for" marks the categories people arrive with, and
"Biggest file" marks the ones where the paperwork is longest and the outcome
lasts longest — E-1/E-2 treaty trader and investor, EB-5, and EB-2 national
interest waiver.

## FarangBuddy — a free app

FarangBuddy is a free Thailand stay tracker the desk gives away:

It records entries, exits, border runs and extensions, works the
admitted-until date out from that list, and keeps the 90-day reporting and
TM30 dates on the same screen. It handles more than one person, converts
currency, and exports its records. It runs in a browser and installs to a
home screen, so it arrives without a store. Its records sit in the browser on
the device.

The app states its own limit and the desk repeats it: the app estimates dates
from what the user types, and the passport stamp and the officer are correct
over the app.

## Licensing — a copy of this site for another city

The site is licensed to agencies in other provinces: Ubon, Koh Samui, Phuket,
Udon and elsewhere. A licensed copy carries the licensee's own name, city,
domain, LINE account and partner codes, in both languages, with its own
enquiry backend and monthly totals. Terms and a written price at
